Cycling Association conducts screening for Nat’l C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 28: Cycling Association of Jammu & Kashmir (CAJK) conducted the official screening at M A Stadium, here today to finalize the cyclists who will represent the Union Territory in the upcoming 30th National Road Cycling Championship, scheduled to take place in Odisha from December 2 to 6.
The screening process was held under the supervision of Vakeel Singh, Incharge Manager, J&K Sports Council, along with Om Prakash, General Secretary of the Cycling Association of J&K, and Tajinder Singh, Treasurer of the Association. The athletes underwent a thorough assessment based on their performance, fitness levels and technical proficiency before the final selections were made.
Following the evaluation, the Association announced the list of cyclists chosen for various categories to participate in the prestigious national event. Waheed Ahmad Ganie and Adil Teli earned selection in the Men Elite category, while Adil Altaf and Adnan Badhir were shortlisted for the U-23 section. In the Junior Category, the selected cyclists include Arfat Bashir, Saiom Mahajan and Ahanger Jahangir.
For the Sub Junior Category, Arslan, Mohammad Adeel and Aakif Noor were selected while Arslan, Sahil Manzoor Para and Hamid will represent in Under-14 Boys. In the women’s section, Mehak Mustaq and Ulfat Mustaq have been selected for the Women Elite category. Meanwhile, in the Under-14 Girls, Sobia Manzoor and Hoor-I-Ein Lone secured their places.
The team will be accompanied by Rayaz Ahmad (Coach) and Om Prakash (Manager) for the Championship in Odisha.
