Dhruv, Kamaksh propel J&K to 209 against Mumbai

JAMMU, Nov 23: Jammu and Kashmir posted 209 runs against Mumbai on the first day of their four-day Cooch Behar Trophy match at the JKCA Hostel ground, thanks to half-centuries from skipper Dhruv Sharma and Kamaksh Sharma.
Mumbai captain Aryan Sakpal won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, J&K lost wickets at regular intervals but recovered through disciplined innings from Kamaksh Sharma, who scored 52 runs off 59 balls with 12 fours and Dhruv Sharma, who made a composed 53 off 139 balls with five fours. Other notable contributions came from Arman (33), Faizan Ahmed (29) and Abdul Basit Lone (21), helping the team reach a competitive total in 78.1 overs.
Mumbai bowlers bowled with discipline, with Harsh taking 4 wickets for 24 runs in 10 overs, while Sarthak and Abhay Patel claimed 2 wickets each. Himanshu Singh and Parsun Singh picked one wicket apiece.
In reply, Mumbai ended the day at 16/1 in nine overs, trailing J&K by 193 runs. Raza Mirza remained unbeaten on 3, while the lone wicket fell to Abhinav Saha (12), who was trapped leg before wicket by Dhruv Sharma. The match is being officiated by umpires K. Manoharan and Srinivas Anup Rai, with Chetan Sharma serving as match referee.
