SHOPIAN, Nov 10: Under the Civic Action Programme (CAP), Shopian Police today inaugurated a Cricket Tournament for Specially-Abled Persons at Batapora Sports Stadium, Shopian. The event aims to promote inclusivity, sportsmanship, and recognize the talent of differently-abled sportspersons.
SSP Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, graced the occasion as chief guest. He encouraged them to play with enthusiasm, discipline, and fairness, emphasizing sports’ role in character building, personality development, and fostering a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. He reiterated Shopian Police’s commitment to youth engagement and community welfare. The inaugural match saw Shopian Strikers face Anantnag Legends, highlighting skill and competitive spirit.
