JAMMU, Nov 10: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, inaugurated the Inter-Collegiate Volleyball (Men) Tournament 2025-26 amid great enthusiasm and sporting spirit. The annual event aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, leadership and camaraderie among students of the University’s affiliated colleges while encouraging participation in competitive sports.
In the opening matches, GDC Akhnoor defeated GDC Khilotran by 2-1 (25-23, 12-25, 15-6), while GDC R.S. Pura triumphed over ASCOMS by 2-0 (27-25, 25-23). GMC Jammu (Para) outplayed Dogra College 2-0 by (25-18, 25-12) and MIET Jammu registered a hard-fought 2-1 victory against GDC Paloura by (25-22, 14-25, 15-12).
In other matches, GMC Rajouri beat GDC Sidhra by 2-0 (25-21, 25-19), GDC Jourian edged past PHL College by 2-1 (25-11, 12-25, 15-8), PG Department JU trounced GNC Kishtwar by 2-0 (25-13, 25-6), GDC Samba blanked GMC Doda by 2-0 (25-13, 25-9) and GDC Doda defeated GDC Mendhar by 2-1 (25-22, 16-25, 15-12).
The matches were officiated by Mulkraj Sharma, Parvinder Singh, Pragya Sharma, Azhar Hussain Shah, Vikas Karlopia, Shubham Sharma, Nazish, Surviand and Kajal.
