JAMMU, Nov 8: The District Jammu Softball Championship 2025, organized by the District Jammu Softball Association under the aegis of the J&K Sports Council, culminated at GGM Science College Grounds, here today.
The final day featured the Senior Boys and Senior Girls categories, culminating a two-day championship. The closing ceremony was graced by Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu West, as chief guest, with Veena Gupta, Chairperson, Maninder Singh, President, District Jammu Softball Association and Anil Angral, Mandal President BJP, as special guests.
Arvind Gupta congratulated the teams, praised the association for its efforts and emphasized the role of sports in youth development. Adv. Pushvinder Singh, District Secretary, lauded the players’ performance and thanked the dignitaries and J&K Sports Council. Veena Gupta highlighted women’s participation and encouraged girls to take up competitive sports.
In the Senior Boys category, Strikers Tejasvi Club emerged champions, Baba Jitto Club were runners-up, and APS Akhnoor secured third place. In the Senior Girls category, Tejasvi Club won the title, with Evergreen Club finishing second.
The championship, officiated by Pawan Kumar, Ayush Singh, Harvinder Singh Sodi, and Madan Mohan, saw participation from 25 teams, reflecting growing interest in softball across Jammu.
