JAMMU, Aug 21: The Inter Zonal District Level Competitions for Kabaddi, Football, Volleyball (U-19 boys) and Chess (AAG boys) entered second day today at Khel Gaon, Nagrota, Jammu, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, district Jammu.
In Kabaddi U-19 boys, Zone Bhalwal triumphed over Zone Jammu in a thrilling final, winning by 27-23 points. Earlier, Bhalwal beat Dansal (25-10) and Jammu defeated Satwari (38-13) in the semifinals.
In Volleyball U-19 boys, Zone Khour outplayed Zone Jourian in the final with a 2-1 sets victory. In the semifinals, Jourian beat Akhnoor and Khour defeated Jammu, by 2-1 sets each.
Football U-19 boys saw league matches where Zone Jammu, Satwari and Akhnoor registered wins. The semifinals-Zone Gandhi Nagar vs. Satwari and Zone Jammu vs. Akhnoor-are scheduled for tomorrow.
In Chess, Zone Jammu clinched victory in the U-17 boys category, with standout performances by Aarush Sharma, Agrim Sharma and Harihar. In the U-14 boys category, Zone Gandhi Nagar emerged winners, defeating Zone Bhalwal.
Meanwhile, inter-school district-level cricket selection trials for U-17 and U-19 girls were conducted at Green Field, Gandhi Nagar, with around 40 girls participated.
