BARAMULLA, Aug 2: In a spirited initiative under Operation Sadhbhavna, the 29 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion of the Indian Army organized Kilo T-20 Cricket League – Pattan Edition in the remote yet vibrant region of Baramulla district.
This community-driven sporting event aimed at promoting peace, unity and youth empowerment while channeling young energy into positive pursuits and unearthing hidden cricketing talent. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth across Srinagar, Budgam and Baramulla, drawing teams from far-flung villages and towns. Matches were conducted on professionally prepared grounds with active support from both the Army and civil administration, ensuring fair play and competitive spirit throughout.
The final match held at SNM Cricket Stadium, Chandrahama, Pattan, was a thrilling contest between Mirgund Hunks and Friends Motors Cricket Club (FCC), Narbal. In a last-ball finish, FCC Narbal clinched the title with a narrow 1-wicket victory. Top performers included Mohammad Manzir (83 runs), Mehraj Amin (46 runs), Basit Khan (4 wickets), and Bhat Showkat (3 wickets). Both teams will now represent Pattan in the final phase of the Kilo Premier League in Lolab Valley.
