General Bikram Singh Hockey Club Baramulla wins hockey title

SRINAGAR, June 29: General Bikram Singh Hockey Club Baramulla emerged victorious in the prestigious 11th Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Valley Hockey Championship 2025, defeating Singhpora Sports Club by 3-2 in a thrilling final.
Organized by Hockey Jammu & Kashmir, the tournament celebrated regional talent and honoured the legacy of the Sixth Sikh Guru. Baramulla’s Arshdeep Singh (Jr.) opened the score in the 10th minute, followed by Arshdeep Singh (Sr.) in the 30th. Singhpora responded through Hardeep Singh (12th minute, penalty stroke) and Jaipal Singh (58th), but Manmeet Singh’s decisive 44th-minute goal secured the title.
Sumeetpal Singh was awarded Player of the Match for his standout performance. MLA Baramulla, Javaid Hassan Beigh, attended the closing ceremony and announced Rs 10 lakh for stadium maintenance. He also promised resolution of long-pending issues regarding AstroTurf installation within two to three months.
