JAMMU, May 29: The J&K UT Junior and Senior Boys and Girls teams have been selected for the All India Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, scheduled from May 31 to June 2 at Nagrota Bagwan, Kangra (Himachal Pradesh).
The teams were finalized after two-day selection trials held at MA Stadium, Jammu, from May 28-29 under the supervision of Gulshan Rattan, Secretary, Tennis Ball Cricket Association J&K and Selection Incharge. The squads were screened by the J&K Sports Council through Divisional Sports Officer Jammu.
The Senior Men’s team features Basharat, Abrar, Zair, Gorav, Musharaf, Umar, Saqib, Parvaiz, Elhan, Basit, Akash, Yasir and Murtaza. The Junior Boys’ team comprises Vijay, Rajveer, Huzaif, Zahir, Chirag, Arfat, Iffam, Sachin, Kanooz, Hazim, Faaiz, Furqan, Eishaan and Burhan. The Girls’ team includes Seema, Rutba, Aastha, Sabha, Madiha, Nowsheen, Sadiya, Aazeena, Zeenat, Mahvish, Madiha, Aasiya, Unsey and Irtika.
Officials accompanying the contingent are Mohd Ashraf, Shaista Akhtar, Narotam Singh, and Farooq Salroo. The J&K contingent is scheduled to depart for Kangra tomorrow morning.
