BCC, Wonder Boys register wins

SOPORE, July 11: BCC Darnambal and Wonder Boys Cricket Club registered resounding wins over their rivals to advance in the ongoing Ist Sopore T20 Cricket Tournament being organized by District Police Sopore, under Civic Action Programme at Khushal Stadium, here.
The first match was played between Shere-Kashmir Cricket Club and BCC Darnambal. Playing first BCC scored 131 runs for seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In return Shere Kashmir Club bundled out for paltry total 61 runs losing the match by 70 runs. Farooq Ahmad of BCC was declared as man of the match who scored 18 runs and clinched three wickets.
The second match of the tournament was played between Wonder Boys Cricket Club and Welkin Riders. Wonder Boys played first and scored 149 runs for four wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Farooq Ahmad emerged as the best scorer who scored 49 runs. In reply, Riders could not stand against the disciplined bowling of Wonder Boys and could make just 108 runs for seven wickets losing the match by 41 runs. Farooq Ahmad of the winning team was declared man of the match.
The contest has been organized by J&K Police in which a total of 56 cricket teams from Sopore town are participating. In the first round 24 matches were played. The second round of the contest is in progress in which 10 matches have been played so far and six more matches will be played in the coming days till the third round starts.
