DYSS to Develop Mini Khel Gaon in Kashmir: Tara

BUDGAM, Feb 27: Following the establishment of the multi-purpose sports facility, Khel Gaon, in Jammu, the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Jammu & Kashmir is now set to develop a Mini Khel Gaon in Kashmir. This announcement was made by Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General of DYSS J&K, during his visit to Charari Shareef in Budgam.
During the visit, the DG YSS, accompanied by senior officers from the department, explored the site for the development of the Mini Khel Gaon. Over 100 Kanal of land has already been allocated for the project, with a hostel capable of accommodating more than 60 players after renovation. The new facility is expected to significantly boost sports activities in the region.
Tara emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing sports infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring better facilities for athletes at every level. He directed concerned officers to prepare a detailed proposal for the project. Tara noted that the region’s rising standards have contributed to a significant increase in the number of medals won at national competitions. The Mini Khel Gaon will further support the development of sports talent in Kashmir.
