Maharashtra dominates at National Aerobic C’ship

JAMMU, Jan 11: On the second day of the ongoing National Aerobic Gymnastics Championship, the medals were awarded in several events. In the Individual Men Final (National Development), the Gold Medal was claimed by Surya Sachin Soundale from Maharashtra, while Hitharth Gandhi of Gujarat secured the Silver and Partik from Jammu & Kashmir won the Bronze. The medals were presented by Kapil Sharma, MD of J&K Medical Corporation, who was the chief guest and Dr. Gurjit Bajwa, Joint Secretary of CGA, as the guest of honour.
In the Individual Women Final (National Development) event, Gold was won by Rahi Ravi Kumar Phool Takar from Maharashtra, Silver by Shagun Sharma from Jammu & Kashmir, and Bronze by Thea Choudhary from Gujarat. The medals were awarded by Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Chairman of J&K Rifle Association, as chief guest and Shashank Bidiwala, TC GFI, as guest of honour.
In the Mixed-Pair (National Development) event, the Gold Medal was won by Riddhi Hemang Mehta and Swaraj Laxman Gattuwar from Maharashtra, Silver by Partik and Shagun Sharma from Jammu & Kashmir and Bronze by Hitharth Gandhi and Kavya Patel from Gujarat. The medals were presented by Sanjeev Prabhakar, MD of Anutham Group of Hotels, as chief guest and Yumnam Ranjan, Member of TC GFI, as guest of honour.
In the Trio Final (National Development), the Gold Medal was claimed by Surya Sachin Soundale, Swaraj Laxman Gattuwar, and Pranit Pramod Bodke from Maharashtra, while the Silver was won by Hitharth Gandhi, Divyam Patel and Dhruvi Patel from Gujarat, and the Bronze by Duna Jeevika, Neha Das and Priya Sen from West Bengal. The medals were awarded by Vijay Saraf, General Secretary of the Wushu Association of India and President of the Wushu Association of J&K, as chief guest and Ruhi Saadria, National Medalist & CFI Judge, as guest of honour.
In the Group Final (Youth) event, the Gold Medal was claimed by Vigya Gupta, Unnati Bokaria, Nishka Bedi, Poorvi Boopash Kumar, and Reyanshi Patnaik from Karnataka, Silver by Akshaya Kalantri, Pushti Ajmera, Saanavi Soundale, Avantika Sanap, and Shweta Raut from Maharashtra, and Bronze by Prem Prajapati, Parth Sukhadia, Tanishk Turner, Dhirti Nanavati, and Aarya Kathane from Gujarat. The medals were presented by Prof. (Dr.) Makrand Joshi, General Secretary of Maharashtra Gymnastics Association, as chief guest and Narayan Joshi, Member of TC GFI, as guest of honour.
In the Aero Dance Final (Youth) event, Maharashtra won the Gold Medal with a final score of 14.25, Karnataka won the Silver Medal with a score of 13.75, and Chandigarh won the Bronze Medal with a score of 11.30. The medals were awarded by T.P. Kiran, General Secretary of the Karnataka Gymnastics Association, as chief guest and Sunil Chettri, Member of TC GFI, as guest of honour.
Jammu & Kashmir, under the leadership of Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, is making remarkable strides in sports, securing national medals and earning recognition for the region. The championship organizing committee expressed gratitude to Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary of Youth Services and Sports, for his valuable support, while Nuzhat Gul, Secretary of the J&K Sports Council, was commended for providing state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The championship was conducted under the overall supervision of SP Singh, Competition Director, with technical officials including Arjuna Awardee Krupali Patel, Manisha Gupta and Natasha. The Gymnastics Association of J&K, led by Er. Kiran Wattal, Vice-President of the Gymnastics Federation of India and President of the Gymnastics Association of J&K, ensured excellent boarding and lodging for the participants and officials throughout the competition.
The organizing team also included experienced members of the Gymnastics Association of J&K, including Tajinder Singh (Vice-President), Anil Khajuria (Treasurer), Kamal Ganjoo, Ashok Singla and R.K. Tikoo.
