JAMMU, Nov 18: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Jammu organized the Inter-District UT Level Gatka Martial Arts Competition for U-17 and U-19 boys and girls at the Wushu Hall, New Indoor Complex, MA Stadium here.
The event witnessed the participation of around 100 athletes from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at selecting the best talent for upcoming competitions.
The athletes competed in various categories, including single-stick and fari-stick events, in both individual and team formats. In the U-17 Boys’ Single Stick Team Event, Samba District emerged as the winner, with Jammu District finishing as runners-up, while Srinagar and Kathua secured third place. In the Fari Stick Individual category, Kathua District claimed first place, followed by Samba and Jammu & Budgam at second, third, respectively. For the Fari Stick Team Event, Kathua District again took the top spot, with Jammu District in second, and Samba and Poonch securing third place.
