VCC Pathankot, HDFC Panipat register victories

JAMMU, Jan 9: Vicky Cricket Club (VCC) Pathankot and HDFC Panipat registered resounding wins over their rivals to advance in the ongoing 4th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone T20 Cricket Tournament at District Sports Stadium, Kathua today.
The first match was played between Vicky Cricket Club Pathankot and Bhaderwah Cricket Club.  Vicky Cricket Club Pathankot won the toss and decided to bat first.  The famous Indian cricketer Dinesh Mongia, who had earlier represented  India many a time at the International level was playing from Vicky Cricket Club Pathankot.
Batting first, Vicky Cricket Club Pathankot set a target of 215 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Jasvinder Sodhi top scored with 89 runs from 38 balls with the help of 11 fours and 6 sixes. Adil from Bhadrwah Cricket Club took 2 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs.
Chasing the target of 215, Bhaderwah Cricket Club bundled out in 18.2 overs after scoring 100 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 115 runs. The highest scorer from Bhaderwah Cricket Club was Rajesh, who scored 34 runs from 33 balls. Rahul from Vicky Cricket Club Pathankot took 3 wickets in 2.3 overs by conceding 7 runs. The man of match trophy was awarded to Jasvinder Sodhi for  89 runs from 38 balls. He was also awarded with a cash reward of Rs. 1500 by Rohni Singh Badwal.
The second match was played between Pathankot XI and HFCC Panipat. HFCC Panipat won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, HFCC Panipat set a target of 215 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. The highest scorer from HFCC Panipat was Parveen, who scored 106 runs from 58 balls with the help of 13 fours and 2 sixes. Kush from Pathankot XI took 2 wickets in 4 overs. Chasing the target of 215, Pathankot XI got all out in 18.4 overs after scoring 126 runs. HFCC Panipat won the match by 89 runs.
The man of match trophy was awarded to Parveen who scored 106 runs from 58 balls and took 5 wickets in 4 overs. He was also awarded with a cash prize of   Rs 1500 by Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua.
