JAMMU, Jan 8: Displaying extraordinary soccer skills, Ronney pelted 6 splendid goals to help NGR thrash Young Star by ten goals to one (10-1) and enter the last four stage as quarterfinals lineup has been drawn in the ongoing 8th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament, being organized by J&K Christian Welfare Association at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
Apart from Ronney’s outstanding show, Garry scored 3 goals and Heera succeeded in netting one. For Young Star, Hiteshwar Singh scored the solitary goal. Raza of NGR was shown yellow card for foul play.
In another match, JK SRTC defeated Jammu Sports by three goals to nil (3-0). Vishal, Chandan and Rahul scored the goals in 32nd, 42nd and 47th minutes respectively. Jammu Sports players were no match to the skill of SRTC players and were in all sorts of trouble from the word go.
In yet another match of the day, BSF got better of Young Rovers in a well fought match by six goals to five (6-5) via tie-breaker. The match ended (1-1) in the stipulated time and in the tie-breaker BSF prevailed over Young Rovers by six goals to five (6-5). Devi Lal, Sumit, Sikander, Kulvinder Sr and Kulvinder Jr were the goal scorers for BSF, while Sourav, Abhimanyu, Vishal and Avinash scored goals for Young Rovers.
The matches were officiated by Moon Stephen, Hilal Ahmed, Rinku Gill, Harneel Singh, Elijah Sotra, Koushal, Vijay Kumar and Sanjay Kumar, while the Tournament is being organized by J&K Christian Organisation, under the supervision of SM Gill, David Masih, Feastus Sotra and Yousuf Don.
Now, in the quarterfinals, JKP will take on JK Bank Academy at 10 am tomorrow, NGR will face J&K Forest at 11:30 am, JK PDC will meet BSF at 1:30 pm and JK Bank will lock horns with JK SRTC at 3:30 pm tomorrow.
