JAMMU, Jan 8: A magnificent knock of 88 runs by Prince and a brilliant bowling display by Pargat Singh helped Sandhu Cricket Club Ludhiana and SABI Cricket Club Hoshiarpur to win their respective ties to advance in the ongoing 4th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone T20 Cricket Tournament at District Sports Stadium, Kathua today.
In the first match, SCC defeated Gateway Srinagar by a big margin of 69 runs. Batting first, SCC scored 178 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Prince was the top scorer with 88 runs off 56 balls, studded with 9 fours and 3 sixes. Altaf took one wicket for Gateway Srinagar. Gateway Club in reply bundled out for 109 runs to lose the match by 69 runs. Prince was declared man of the match, who received a cash prize of Rs 1500 and a trophy from JL Mathlani, vice president CTM Kathua.
In another match, SABI Club drubbed NCC Jammu by 40 runs. Batting first SABI Club scored 139 runs in 16 overs, while NCC in reply scored 99 runs to lose the match by 40 runs. For NCC, Deepak took 3 wickets, while for SABI Club, Pargat Singh scalped 3 important wickets, which fetched him a man of the match award, including Rs 1500 and a trophy, which he received from Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua.
