Devotional song competition enters Day 2

KATRA, Sept 28: All India devotional song competition, being organised by SMVD Shrine Board as part of Navratra Festival, entered 2nd day at Yog Ashram Complex, here today.
The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Reasi in presence of Joint Director Tourism, Sunaina Mehta, Additional SP Katra Amit Bhasin, SDM Katra Angrez Singh, Chairman Devotional Song Committee and president Hotel Association Katra, Rakesh Wazir, Assistant Director Tourism Ambika Bali and Swami Yoganand ji Maharaj.
On 2nd day of the preliminary round of competition, Rajeev Salotra from Jammu took 1st position, while 2nd position was secured by Shubham Banerjee from Jammu and Meghna Chandra from Delhi, Vivek Mohan from Jammu and Karan Kumar from Samba shared 3rd position.
The competition was judged by panels of experts in music including Dr Surinder Kumar Sharma HoD Govt. Degree College Sunni Shimla, Dr Usha Bhagati Ex HoD Music PG MAM College Jammu by Dr Anupma Sharma Ex HoD Music PG Department of College Parade.
Famous singer and former winners of All India Devotional Song Competition, Sanjeet Kumar enthralled the audience with his melodious songs during the event.
The proceedings of the competition were conducted by Rakesh Wazir. He informed that famous singers who are lined up for their guest performances on the stage include Joy Sufi on 30th September & 1st October, Balraj on 2nd October, Shanker Sawhney on 3rd October, whereas Richa Sharma and Amrinder Bobby will perform on 4th October.
The competition is being organized by SMVD Shrine Board in collaboration with Department of J&K Tourism, PTC Punjabi Gold in association with Patanjali Dantkanti and co sponsored by Monalisa, Lia Agarvati, J&K Bank, Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Nidesh Builders Pvt. Ltd. Jammu, with active support of District Administration.
It is pertinent to mention here that the first position holders of daily competition will compete with the winners of the quarter final on October 3 for their entry into the final, while the quarter finals will be held on October 2. The grand finale of the competition will be held on 4th of October.
