Pouni Chak emerges winner of Kabaddi tournament at Akalpur

JAMMU, Feb 3: Pouni Chak emerged winner of Kabaddi tournament, organised by Bharatiya Janata Party Sports Cell J&K UT at Akalpur village as part of the Pt Prem Nath Dogra Khel Pratiyogita, here today.
The Khel Pratiyogita was commenced on the birth anniversary of Pt Prem Nath Dogra- a leader of Jansangh on October 24, 2021.
The tournament was inaugurated by Rajinder Singh Chib District president Jammu Rural and organised under the guidance of convener Sports Cell, Sunil Sharma along with co convener Parshotam Sharma and Raman Chadha, executive member.
The final match was played between the teams of Pouni Chak and Pargwal team in which Pouni Chak was declared as winner of the tournament.
On the occasion, the chief guest conveyed that there were two motives behind such tournaments by Sports Cell including one was to pay tribute to Pt. Prem Nath Dogra and 2nd was to provide a platform to local youths of the area to display their unexplored talent.
He also said that sports is the medium to win the hearts of the people and now-a-days sport has become a profession where the players can earn name and fame for the country.
Cash prize of Rs 7000 was given to the winning team while Rs 4000 cash prize was awarded to runner up team along with trophies.
Prominent leaders including Manohar Lal Bhagat, Bharat Bushan Sharma, Bachan Lal, Himanshu Kakaliya and many others were present during the event.
