Christian Sports Club drubs VCC in opening tie

JAMMU, July 12: Senior Congress Leader, Vikram Malhotra inaugurated the Under-12 Three-Match Cricket Series in an impressive, colourful and well attended function at Alexander School Ground, here today.
The series is being organized by Christian Sports Organization J&K, with the objective to provide opportunity to children, to create sports interest among them and help them not to get derailed from the mainsteam. The slogan of the tournament is “Be Healthy-Don’t Do Drugs”.
The other dignitaries who were present on the occasion included Pastor Vinod, Ravi Richard, Sonu Donald, Moon Stephan, Elija Sotra, Naveen Athwal, Nitu Khokher, Amit, Rohit Robert, Rakul, Noni, Samson, Anil Gill, William Mattoo and Prince.
Meanwhile, in the inaugural match, Christian Sports Club Jr drubbed Vishal Cricket Club Jr by 13 runs.
Batting first, Christian Sports Club scored 58 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 10 overs. Kallis was the main scorer with 23 runs. For Vishal Club Jr, Anslam and Ayush took 2 wickets each.
Vishal Cricket Club Jr could not chase the target and was all out 45 runs for 5 wickets in allotted 10 overs. Jullies was the top scorer with 18 runs and no other batsman reached in the double figures. For Christian Sports Club, Aryaman took 2 wickets while Kallis and Ruhail took one wicket each. Kallis of Christian Sports Club was adjugged man of the match.
The match was officiated by Sanjay Bhatti and Sandeep as umpires, while Rakul acted as scorer.
Rev Udhey Singh Inchage priest of CNI Church was the special guest, while Lal Gill and Hamid Mattoo were the guests of honour. Welcome address was presented by Rajesh Gill, while Victor Sotra conducted the proceedings of the opening function.
