JAMMU, Sept 11: Jammu division selection events in Chess senior open category started today at Nek Hotel, below Gumat, here today.
The events are being organised by Jammu District Chess Association under the aegis of All J&K Chess Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
Top 10 selected players from this event will be eligible for J&K UT level Chess Championship which is scheduled to be held at Srinagar next month. About 90 players will compete in different age groups in this four days event, whereas age category and women events will start on September 12.
The events are being held under the observation of Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor MA Stadium, J&K Sports Council, whereas the event was declared open by Atul Gupta, president All J&K Chess Association along with Baldev Raj.
