J&K Bank XI to lock horns with RKFC in finals on Apr 8

SRINAGAR, Apr 3: Trouncing their rivals convincingly in their respective matches, J&K Bank-XI and Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) will lock horns against each other on April 8 in the ongoing 28th Annual Football Championship of Kashmir edition, being played at Synthetic Turf TRC, here.
Today two semi-finals matches were played. The first semi-final match was played between J&K Bank XI and Hero FC Jammu. In the 3rd minute of the first half, J&K Bank netted an easy goal by Akif. Thereafter, the J&K Bank’s players tried hard to increase their margin but could not succeed in first half of the game as the opponent team fortified their defence.
In the 70th minute of the game J&K Bank XI made a brilliant move which was foiled by the goalkeeper of Hero’s FC, thus saving a sure shot goal but in 89th minutes of the game, the J&K Bank netted another goal and registered the win by 2-0 goals. Parvinder Kalsi of Hero’s FC Jammu was awarded a cash prize for his best performance as a custodian.
The 2nd semi-final match was played between Real Kashmir FC (R) and J&K Police XI. In the 10th minute of the first half, Real Kashmir FC missed an open net chance as the goalkeeper of J&K Police made a tremendous save. Both the teams played an offensive game but failed to find net in first half of the game.
In 2nd half, the J&K Police XI played with all their might but could not stop Real Kashmir winger Hyder who made a beautiful cross while Basit made no mistake to convert it into a goal in the 67th minute of the game, thus Real Kashmir FC defeated J&K Police XI by a solitary goal.
Nazir Ahmad (Referee), Roshan Khayal, former DGM J&K Bank and Irshad Ahmad owner of Kashmir Avengers FC were the guests on the occasion who also interacted with the players.
