SIMBAL, May 16: Diamond Cricket Club defeated Star Cricket Satwari by 4 wickets to seal berth in the semifinals of the ongoing Baisakhi Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by DCC at Government High School Ground, here.
Batting first, Star scored 99 runs in 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Sahil top scored with 35 runs, while Abhishant contributed 13 runs to the total. For Diamond Club, Gurdev, Ajitpal and Mahadeep shared 2 wickets each, while Mani claimed one.
In reply, Diamond Club chased the target in 18.2 overs by losing 6 wickets to win the match by 4 wickets. Jagmohan was the top scorer with 27 runs, while Navdeep, Gurdev, Inder and Raja contributed 18, 15, 10 and 11 runs respectively. For Star Club, Kaka and Dheeraj bagged 2 wickets each, while Happy and Ajit claimed one wicket each. Gurdev Singh was named man of the match for his all-round show.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of GS Michael, organizing secretary of the tournament.
