DODA, May 14: Nagri Eleven and Jodhpur Cricket registered wins over their rivals in the ongoing All India 9th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2013 at Sports Stadium, here today.
The Tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
Earlier, in the first match, Nagri XI defeated Doda Junior Warriors by 6 wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Doda Junior Warriors bundled out for 87 runs. Neeraj scored 17 runs, while Sachin contributed 11 runs. From Nagri XI, Mudassir took 4 wickets, while Arshad claimed one.
In reply, Nagri XI chased the target in 11.5 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Waseem top scored with 38 runs while Arshad contributed 22 runs. From Doda Junior Warriors, Neeraj and Raj Kumar shared 1 wicket each. Mudassir of Nagri Eleven was declared as man of the match for his bowling performance.
In the second match, Jodhpur CC defeated Paryote Eleven by 5 wickets. Batting first, Paryote Eleven scored 123 runs by loosing their 4 wickets. Manjeet scored 44 runs while Parjeet contributed 25 runs to the teams cause. For Jodhpur Cricket Club, Vijay and Umar shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Jodhpur Cricket Club chased the target in 17.5 overs by losing their 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Nasir was the highest scorer from Jodhpur Cricket Club who scored 26 runs followed by Surinder who contributed 16 runs for his team. From Paryote Eleven, Ashwani and Surjeet shared 2 wicket each. Nasir of Jodhpur Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his best all-round performance.
The match was officiated by Amit Bansal and Mohammad Rafi, while Shahid Bashir Pampori acted as scorer.
