UDHAMPUR, May 14: 2-Day District Level Inter-Zonal Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls concluded at Mini Stadium, here today.
Earlier, in badminton Under-14 boys singles, Parul Dev of Udhampur zone defeated Pammu Kumar of Jib zone by (2-0) sets with (21-15, 21-17), while in another match of this category, Ayush of Udhampur zone got better of Shammi Kumar of Jib zone by (2-0) sets with (23-21, 21-12).
Meanwhile, in badminton Under-17 girls, Sahil Sharma of Jib zone prevailed over Asmeet Singh of Udhampur zone by (21-14, 21-15) in straight sets, while Harsh Maharaj of Udhampur zone outplayed Karan Kumar of Jib zone by (21-12,21-11).
In badminton Under-17 boys doubles, Harsh Maharaj and Aditya of Udhampur zone outclassed Karan Kumar and Sahil of Jib zone by (21-18, 21-17).
The matches were officiated by Manik Nagrotra, Renu Thaplu, Sandeep Kour, Rakesh Sahwney, Raman Kumar, Gourav Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Rakesh Khajuria and Karan Sharma.
The Tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the overall supervision of Sukhdev Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Champa Devi, Kanchan Sharma, Vishnu Devi, Jasvinder Singh, Sanjeev Kumar and Kulbhushan Kumar.
