Ace gymnast Palak selected for Indian team

JAMMU, May 6: Palak Kour of Jammu and Kashmir has once again made the State proud by getting the National selectors nod for being selected in the forthcoming Indian Rhythmic Gymnastics team for its participation in the 6th Seniors Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Champ-ionships at Tashkent, Uzbekistan and 32nd World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships at Kiev-Ukrain.
A student of Class 12th, Palak  got second Rank during the Trials and  became the youngest member of the squad during the selection trials held at Indoor Sports Complex, Jammu.
The selection trials were conducted by J & K Gymnastics Association under the aegis of Gymnastics Federation of India.
The Team: Nishtha Shah from Maharashtra, Palak Kour from J & K, Prabhjot Kour Bajwa from Punjab and Madhura Tambe from Maharashtra (Seniors Asian Championships at Tashkent), Nishtha Shah and Palak Kour (32nd World RG Championships at Kiev).
Inderjit Singh from Chandigarh and Mahendra Chamburkar from Maharashtra, vice presidents of the Gymnastics Federation of India acted as selection Committee members.
International and National Qualified Judges evaluated the performance and gave their expert judgement for making a Ranking List of the participating Gymnasts of the Country.
