Resounding wins by SRML, DPS, APS, KC in U-17 football

JAMMU, May 6: Army Public School Miran Sahib, SRML Jammu, Delhi Public School Jammu and KC Public School Jammu registered resounding wins over their rivals in the District Level Inter-School Competitions, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, here.
The tournament is being held under the chairmanship of Ved Prakash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
Earlier, SRML beat by three goals to one via tie-breaker. Akash, Mandeep and Gulzar scored one goal each for winners, while in another match, DPS beat MIER by three goals to two (3-2), with Fiaz, Aman and Shakir scoring one goal each for DPS.
Army Public School Miran Sahib defeated Tiny Tots by a solitary goal and the goal scorer was Ajay Sharma, while KC Public School outplayed SOS by one goal and the goal scorer was Jaipal Singh.
Meanwhile, in Under-17 boys hockey, SOS trounced St peter by five goals to four (5-4) via tie-breaker, while HSS Gole Gujral blanked Guru Harkrishan Public School, Nanak Nagar by three goals to nil (3-0).
In hockey Under-14 boys, APS Miran Sahib defeated Boys HS Simbal Camp by (2-0) goals.
In badminton Under-14 girls, Presentation Convent defeated Shastri Memorial by (2-0) sets, KC International trounced Adarsh Niketan, MIER beat Dewan Devi and MHAC Nagbani drubbed APS Domana, while in badminton Under-17 boys, KC Public School got better of GD Goenka, APS Nagrota beat SOS, MHAC Nagbani prevailed over Shastri Memorial and KC International defeated HSS Canal Road.
In all, over 500 boys participated in foot, 114 in badminton and 175 in hockey.
