Sittu Club drubs Gole Gujral via tie-breaker

SIMBAL, Apr 28: Scripting a thrilling win by eight goals to seven (8-7) over Bagh Bain Club, Gole Gujral in the inaugural match, Sittu Club advanced into the next round in the 2nd Maharaja Ranjit Singh Gold Cup Hockey Tournament, organized by Young Star Hockey Club Simbal Camp, in collaboration with Hockey J&K, under the aegis of Hockey Hockey, here today.
Earlier, the match ended with a (3-3) draw in the stipulated time and in the tie-breaker, Sittu Club converted all five chances into the goals, while the Bagh Bain Club managed to convert only four strokes into the goals, thus lost the match by (8-7).
The match was officiated by Gurmeet Singh and Amarjeet Singh.
10 teams drawn from Jammu and adjoining areas are participating in the Championship.
Dr Karan Bhagat, senior Congress leader was the chief guest in todays proceedings.
