8th National Deaf Chess Championship concludes

SRINAGAR, June 8: 8th National Deaf Chess Championship concluded today at Government Women’s College, M A Road Srinagar. The championship was first of its kind in J&K in which number of teams from outside the State participated.
The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed the prizes among winner teams.
First three prizes of Rupees 3000, 2000 and 1500 were given to M K Alaguraja (Tamil Nadu), Pankaj Kumar (West Bengal) and Sanjay Gupta (Delhi) respectively among male individuals while as same prizes were also given to female individuals which included Malika Handa (Punjab) First, R Aparna (Tamil Nadu) Second and Renu Bala (Delhi), Third.
