JAMMU, May 3: Two days 8th District Jammu Rope Skipping Championship 2018-19 got underway at Baby Caterers Hall Rehari, here today.
About 300 students drawn from various schools and clubs participated in the event.
On day-1 today, the events in the age groups of Under-8, Under-10 and Under-12 were conducted.
The Championship is being organized by District Jammu Rope Skipping Association under the aegis of Rope Skipping Association of Jammu & Kashmir and J&K Olympic Association.
In Under-8 Boys (Speed Hop), Prayas Bhau and Dikshant Gupta won gold and silver respectively, while Hitesh Badgal and Tanish claimed bronze.
In Under-8 Girls (Speed Hop), Pavni Mishra bagged gold, Pavni Sharma clinched silver, while the bronze medals went to Harshita Rajput and Radhika Sharma.
In Under-10 Boys (Speed Hop), the gold and silver medals went to Bhavishay Thakyal and Hitesh Khanna respectively, while Nipun Bali and Ali Akbar claimed bronze medals.
In Under-10 Girls (Speed Hop), Kritika Gupta clinched gold, Kanak Padotra bagged silver, while Manya Badyal and Simardeep claimed bronze medals.
In Under-12 Boys (Speed Hop), the gold medal was bagged by Aryan Raj, the silver medal went to Manan and the bronze was shared by Samarth Jain and Gourav Singh.
In Under-12 Girls (Speed Hop), Sunidhi Gupta, Aakarshita Gupta and Shaweta Kalyan claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In Under-10 Boys (Speed Sprint 30 Sec),
Anshul Maini emerged first, Nitin Kumar won 2nd place, while Abhinav Singh and Bhavish claimed 3rd spot.
In Under-10 Girls (Speed Spirent 30 Sec), Sukriti won gold, Anandi Sharma bagged silver and Rishika Rajput claimed bronze.
In Under-12 Boys (Speed Spirent 30 Sec), Mridur Sharma and Arnav Dhotra won gold and silver respectively, while Lovish Manhas and Ronak Sharma claimed bronze medals.
