KATRA, Oct 23: Eight contestants today qualified for the grand finale of the All India Devotional Song Competition after participating in the semi-final here today.
The Semi final of All India Devotional Song Competition began with lightening of the traditional lamp by Member Legislative Assembly, Baldev Raj Sharma in presence of R.K Chibber Vice President J&K Bank.
Joint Director Tourism Ajay Sharma, Addl. SP Katra, Mohan Lal, Tehsildar Reasi Gopal Singh, Yog Nand Ji Maharaj besides Sham Lal Kesar President Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra, Sardari Lal Dubey, Harish Dubey member Navratra Festival Committee were also present on the occasion.
Among 21 singers adjudged 2nd and 3rd in preliminary rounds started from October 16, 8 singers including Suresh from Jib Udhampur, Navneet Kaur from Ludhiana, Mukteshi Sharma from Jammu, Kumar Ajay from Punjab, Sumit Bhardwaj from Poonch, Vibha Bharti from Kathua, Jyoti Rakesh from Patna Bihar managed their entry into Mega final of All India Devotional Song Competition to be held on October 23.
The semi final competition was adjudged by the panel of Judges of experts in Music including Prof. Anupama Sharma, Lecturer Music Govt .Degree College Parade, Parveen Sabharwal Ex. Music Lecturer many Degree Colleges and Parduman Singh Ex. Programme Executive Radio Station Jammu and noted Dogri singer.
