JAMMU, Sept 29: Talented cueists Sumesh Turki and Ishuk Chowdhary alongwith other five others today entered the quarterfinals stage in the ongoing 22nd Jammu District Open Junior and Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship, being organized by the J&K Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) at Billiards Hall in MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, Sumesh blanked Bhanu Gupta by three frames to nil (3-0) (44-10, 63-33, 60-25), while Ishuk Chowdhary got better of Saurabh Sharma in a close contest by 3-2 (63-24, 45-25, 60-65, 67-70, 80-73)
Meanwhile in other second round matches played today, Ankit Gupta trounced Ajay Pal Singh 3-0 (57-31, 67-28, 65-55), Himanshu Phaul outplayed Sanand Sharma 3-0 (54-21, 66-46, 57-25),
Ankush Dogra outclassed Sahil Aggarwal 3-2 (60-28, 62-53, 40-78, 21-64, 84-25), Kuldeep Sharma defeated Manik Salotra 3-1 (64-50, 39-59, 70-31, 67-54) and Saurabh Dogra drubbed Abhishek Goswami 3-1 ( 64-62, 48-19, 46-52, 56-14).
