JAMMU, Dec 10: 6th Police Martyrs Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament was started by District Police Kishtwar under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) launched by J&K Police at Chowgan Ground Kishtwar, today.
8 top teams of Kishtwar District are participating in the event.
Shohab Inayat Malik, Director Kishtwar Campus of Jammu University was chief guest on the occasion, who inaugurated the tournament in presence of SP Kishtwar, Yougal Manhas and Additional SP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom. Large number of people thronged the occasion to witness the match.
The tournament is held every year to commemorate the sacrifices of Martyrs of J&K Police.
The inaugural match was played between Sheikhpora Eleven and Sarkoot Eleven.
Elected to bat first after winning the toss, Sheikhpora Eleven scored 127 runs for loss of six wickets in allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Sarkoot Eleven won the match by reaching the target in 17 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Suhail of Sarkoot Eleven scored 47 runs and took one wicket to earn man of the match award.
