JAMMU, Sept 1: The 5th J&K UT Yoga Sports Championship 2024, organized by the Yoga Association of Jammu & Kashmir under the J&K Olympic Association culminated at Brahma Kumaris’ Om Shanti Meditation Centre, here today.
The event attracted participants from across various districts of the Union Territory, showcasing their yoga skills in a series of competitive events.
The championship was inaugurated by Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, President of the J&K Olympic Association, with a candle-lighting ceremony led by the Brahma Kumaris. Chief guest, Rajyogini B K Sudarshan Didi, and guest of honour B K Ravinder Bali awarded trophies, medals and certificates to the winners. The event was attended by distinguished guests including Ashwani Katoch, Rajinder Kumar, Sonia Sharma and others.
The championship was officiated by national referees and judges from the Yoga Federation, including Dayal Ram, Mukesh Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Rajesh Bandral and Aryaaveer Singh.
The championship results in different age groups in boys and girls were 1st Place Parth Samnotra (Reasi), Urvashi (Reasi), Divyesh Sharma (Jammu), Ananya Kotwal (Jammu), Mridul Raj Gupta (Jammu), Sadhya Sharma (Jammu), Krishna Choudhary (Jammu), Akshi Sharma (Reasi), Surinder Rajput (Jammu), Akriti Singh (Jammu), Himanshu Verma (Jammu) and Siya Suryavanshi (Jammu)
In the 2nd place; Aadhya Gupta (Jammu), Nishita Menniya (Jammu), Rahul Singh (Reasi), Gunjan Sharma (Jammu), Banshu Sharma (Jammu), Veenakshi (Jammu), Lakshya Mahajan (Jammu), Kritika Sharma (Jammu), Sandeep Kumar (Jammu), Aditi Verma (Jammu), Sahil Singh (Jammu) and Sunakshi Rajput (Jammu)
Players who came 3rd were Harshit Wazir (Reasi), Anishka Gupta (Jammu), Navjot Singh (Jammu), Aliya Akhter (Reasi), Arnav Singh (Jammu), Vasavi Sharma (Jammu), Shaurya Bandral (Jammu), Ankita Pangotra (Samba), Arun Singh (Samba), Sukriti Verma (Jammu), Dev Mehra (Jammu) and Sonika Sharma (Jammu).
