GULMARG, Mar 7: Indian Institute of Skiing & Mountaineering (IISM) completed its 5th Ski Course, here today.
More than 80 students passed out in 3 different levels of skiing in basic, intermediate and advance courses. The institute has become so popular that it is difficult for most of the students to get admission due to limited number of seats.
This batch of students was from different parts of the country including considerable number of students from Kashmir. There were students from Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, UP, U.K, Haryana and various other places.
Aziz Ahmad Rather, Sub District Magistrate (SDM) Tangmarg was the chief guest and Suhail Ahmad Wani of Gulmarg Gondola was the guest of honour.
Mr Rather gave away prizes to the winners of different events.
JS Dhillon, Principal, IISM welcomed the chief guest and briefed him about the various activities being undertaken by the institute.
He said that it was a challenging task for him to revive the institute amidst negative media reports of turmoil in Kashmir. He told that hard work put in by his team combined with excellent training & administration has removed all fears from minds of students who make a bee line to get admission in this institute.
Baqir Hussain one of the students of IISM is currently representing India in Junior Asian Cup at Lebanon.
