JAMMU, Sept 7: The 53rd KVS National Sports Meet for Girls, organized by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), concluded at M.A.M and K.K. Hakku sports grounds here today.The event showcased exceptional sportsmanship and stellar performances from participants.
Dr. Ritu Pallavi, Assistant Commissioner (Training) from KVS Headquarters in New Delhi, attended the final game, motivating the athletes. Nagendra Goyal, Deputy Commissioner of KVS Jammu Region, expressed gratitude to KVS Headquarters and congratulated all participants. He emphasized the significance of the event, which Jammu hosted for the second time in the 53rd edition, and praised its successful execution.
Islam Khan, Assistant Commissioner of KVS Jammu Region, expressed his appreciation for the guidance provided by the Deputy Commissioner and highlighted the participation of approximately 796 students from 25 KVS regions, along with 137 escorts. He reiterated the importance of such sports events in fostering the overall development of students.
In the Under-14 hockey final at K.K. Hakku Stadium, Chennai triumphed over Jaipur, securing the gold medal, while Jaipur took silver and Mumbai bronze. In the Under-17 hockey final, Jaipur clinched the title by defeating Ranchi by 2-0, with Ranchi taking silver and Bhopal bronze.
In Kabaddi, Lucknow emerged victorious over Chennai by 36-27 in the Under-14 final, earning the gold medal. Chennai took silver, and Mumbai bronze. In the Under-17 kabaddi final, Chennai dominated Bengaluru by 43-18 to claim the title, with Bengaluru winning silver.
During the closing ceremony, Nagendra Goyal and Islam Khan awarded medals and trophies to the winners, encouraging them to continue their excellent performances in the upcoming SGFI games. The event concluded with praise for the successful organization and a celebration of the athletes’ remarkable achievements.
