JAMMU, Nov 12: The five day long 52nd Yonex Sunrise J&K UT Badminton Championship 2025 for Seniors (Men & Women), Sub Junior (U-13 & U-15) and Mini (U-11), organised by the Badminton Association of J&K in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council concluded at the Indoor Sports Complex, MA Stadium here today.
The finals and prize distribution ceremony were attended by about 220 players from across Jammu & Kashmir, and the chief guest, MLA Yudhvir Sethi, presented the awards. Also present were Dr O.D. Sharma (Vice President BAI & Chairman BAJK), Arshi Nad (Manager Indoor Complex), D.V. Sharma (Vice Chairman BAJK), Balbir Jamwal (General Secretary BAJK), Fayaz Ahmed, Dushyant Sharma (Treasurer BAJK) and other dignitaries. The matches were conducted under the supervision of SAI coaches Touseef Ahmed and Vikram Saini, assisted by Rahul Chawaria and Jaideep Sharma.
In the Men’s Singles final, Bhavya Sharma defeated Gopesh Singh by 21-16, 21-18 to lift the title. In Men’s Doubles, the pairing of Bhavya & uranjay beat Raghav & Manish by 21-15, 21-19. On the women’s side, Krishika Mahajan edged out Unnati Jaral in the Women’s Singles final by 21-19, 21-17. In the Girls Sub Junior (U 13) category, Akshini Manhas defeated Tara Shan by 21-14, 21-18 to claim gold.
