JAMMU, Apr 25: Organized by Association of Karate Jammu and Kashmir, the 4th UT level Karate Championship at Bhagwati Nagar Indoor Sports Complex concluded today.
The Championship was organized in the memory of late Prem Nath Gupta. More than 200 contestants from various parts of J&K participated in the Championship. The events had been divided based on the age and weight of the contestants.
The medal winners are Amit Kumar (gold in U-14, 30 kg weight category), Aditya Rajput (gold in U-14, 60 kg), Parminder Kour (gold in 8-9 years, 30 kg), Deepanshi (gold in 6-7 years, 25 kg), Rizul Bhagat (gold in 4-5 years, 20 kg), Manas Radha (gold in 6-7 years, 25 kg), Aarav Verma (gold in 8-9 years, 35 kg), Mehak Sharma (gold in 6-7 years, 25 kg), Kavish Singh (gold in U-14, 40 kg), Arjun Kumar (gold in 10-11 years, 35 kg), Samaira Khajuria (gold in 12-13 years, 45 kg) and Bhavya Anand (silver in 12-13 years, 45 kg).
KK Gupta (retired Chief Engineer) was the chief guest on the occasion while Ashok Gupta (retired IPS) and Jaswant Rai Gupta (former president, Rotary Club Jammu) were guests of honour.
The event was conducted in a very congenial environment and all the candidates displayed best of Karate skills.
