JAMMU, Mar 5: Third J&K UT level Karate Championship-2022 in sub junior, cadet, junior and senior, organised by Amateur Karate Do Association of J&K, commenced at Mahajan Hall, here today.
More than 400 participants from different districts including Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Reasi, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Bandipora, Kupwara, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda, Baramulla are participating in the championship.
Rajesh Gupta chairman of Tourism Federation and Board Member Trade Development Dialogues was the chief guest, Shihan Ambedkar Gupta general secretary (AKAJK) was the guest of honour of the opening ceremony of the championship.
Rajesh Gupta appreciated the work being done by the Association in the field Karate and the outstanding performance of the players. He also expressed his immense pleasure to see that the players have come to participate in the tournament from all parts of the Union Territory beside the difficult weather conditions hundreds of players from Kashmir province came to Jammu for participation.
The championship is being conducted under the supervision of Referee Commission (AKAJK), Sports Commission (AKAJK) and Athlete Commission (AKAJK).
In Kumite under-10 female category, Sehreen Jan, Gold, Ri Taj Shafi Silver, Ali Ziya Sajid Bronze, Aish Ashrat Bhat Bronze, while in boys category, Nishant Kumar, Gold, Mohd-Mohsin, Silver, Shakir-UD-Din, Bronze, Lukas Polhamus, Bronze, Shahbaz Bashir (Budgam) Gold, Junaid Saleem, Silver, Braiden Polhamus, Bronze, Samridh Gupta, Bronze and in girls category, Manvika Thakur Gold, in 30 kg, Rakshika Sharma, Gold, Purnika Sharma, Silver, while in plus 35 kg, Bhumika, Gold, Adalyn Polhamus, Silver, Seerat Rafiq, Bronze in 30 kg.
