JAMMU, Apr 28: Mountaineering Association of J&K is going to organise 3rd UT level Climbing Championship in collaboration with Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Luxmi Puram, Bantalab, here from May 7 to 8.
About 200 climbers from various districts of the Union Territory are taking part in the two-day championship. In case the participation exceeds 200 climbers, preliminary rounds of certain categories for Jammu district shall be conducted a day earlier.
The competitions will be organised in eight categories including men and women (born in 2005, 2004 and earlier), junior boys/ girls (born in 2006, 2007 & 2008), sub junior boys /girls (born in 2009 and 2010) and mini boys / girls (born in 2011 and later).
The final selection of the J&K UT Sport Climbing team for the North Zone Sport Climbing Championship is scheduled to be held at Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi from May 16 to 19.
