38th Stag J&K State TT C’ship 2016 gets underway

JAMMU, Nov 15: The 38th Stag  J&K State Table Tennis Championship got underway today at Indoor Hall, MA Stadium, here.
The championship was declared open by Abdul Qayoom, Chief Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council.
Mr Qayoom encouraged the young players of the State to play in the right spirit of the game.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council was also present on the occasion.
Two hundred and twenty peddlers drawn from across the State  are participating in different age groups to be held in the next five days.
Earlier, in Under-12 Cadet boys first round, Vivek beat Ceyl by 2-1, Harman drubbed Mohd Zafar by 2-0, Sarthak trounced Jaskaran by 2-1, Salin outplayed Pranay Sharma by 2-0, Karmanya Wahi got better of Shiveen Aggarwal by 2-0.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sanjay Wahi, Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, I.P Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Vasu Dewan, Anil Dutta, Gurvinder Singh Sasan, Sandeep Khadotra, Shorya Sharma, Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra  and Sanjeev Gupta.
Ashok Singh, Manager MA Stadium and Narinder Singh from Poonch were also present on the occasion.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Khadotra (NIS Table Tennis coach) and Meenu Rajesh.
