JAMMU, Dec 11: The 35th edition of State Table Tennis Championship in which nearly 200 players from different districts are participating, was declared open today by Commissioner Home, Suresh Kumar.
Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Dalip Thussu, was guest of honor on the occasion. The matches would be played in six different categories and the tournament will conclude on December 14. The top ranked players shall qualify for different nationals, which shall be played in different parts of the Country in next few weeks.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were general secretary, State Table Tennis Association, Ajay Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer, Rajan Sharma, Manmeet Kour, Sheetal Gandotra, Vikas Sharma, Ravi Singh, Sports Officer, Srinagar, Abdul Qyauoom, Sheikh Tulal and working president, JKTTA, VK Magoo.
The matches would be officiated by Satish Gupta, Meenu and S. Narinder Singh.
