JAMMU, Aug 31: Faisal Mir and Ridhik Kapoor scripted wins and lifted titles of men’s single and junior boys by defeating Pratham Suri and Zaffar Ahmed by 3-1 and 3-0 respectively, while Pratham & Rahul secured men’s double title by defeating Saleem and Faisal Mir by 3-1 on final day of the 31st Poonch District Table Tennis Championship, organised at Sports Stadium here today.
The championship was organised by District Table Tennis Association under the overall supervision of Er Saleem Bandey general secretary in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch Inderjeet was the chief guest, whereas Dr Vinod Kumar SSP Poonch was the guest of honour of the closing ceremony.
Riaz Chowdhury Member DDC, Naim Ul Nisa SDM Surankote, Dr. Nusrat Bhatti BMO Mandi, Prof Jasbir Singh Principal GDC Surankote, Pardeep Khanna, Adv Nardosh Bazmi and many others were present during the valedictory function.
The Association also honoured many veteran and outstanding players of various games during the event.
