3 days Wushu C’ship concludes

SRINAGAR, Nov 7: Three days District Level Wushu Championship, organised by District Wushu Association, concluded at Gindun Ground Rajbagh, here today.
About 250 players from different clubs and schools participated in mini, sub-junior, junior and senior categories of both boys and girls.
Former Home Minister of erstwhile state of J&K, Nasir Aslam Wani was the chief guest, while Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, Manager Gindun Ground, Bilquis Mir (Director Water Sports) and Nisar Hussain (President Awardee) were the guests of honour.
District Srinagar Wushu Academy won overall trophy whereas runner up trophy went to Indoor Sports Academy.
Awards were given to winning players by the chief guest during the concluding ceremony. The chief guest appreciated the efforts of the Association for organizing championship by following COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Government.
He appealed the Government for the establishment of State Wushu Academy as Wushu is the only sports in which the UT had won medals at Asian Games, World Championship and Asian Championship.
