3-day ‘Science Gadget’ Programme organized

LEH, June 9: Providing opportunity to the students of Leh, 3-day Science Gadget Programme, organized by Star Club Social Welfare Society concluded at Islamia Public High School, here today.
NGO organized this programme for the students of far-flung areas of Leh to know latest gadgets used in daily life.
Dr ABVP Mishra, Scientist National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), distributed prizes among the students.
About 1000 students from 35 Schools of Leh participated in this Programme. Last year eight Schools had participated in this Programme.
Essay writing, debate, drawing, Science quiz, Science drama and Science toon competition were the main events held for the student community during the Programme.
Teachers orientation workshop on Science in day-today life, Science theatre workshop, essay competition and film show, besides interaction with the Scientists were also part of the Programme.
Dr Mishra highlighted the role of modern Science in daily life. He said NCSTC has sponsored such type of Science programmes for students of far flung areas.
Lauding the efforts of Star Club Social Welfare Society, Executive Councilor, Mohd Shafi urged upon the students to nurture scientific temperament to capably cope up with the fast changing world’s scenario. Tariq Khan, Director Star Club Social Welfare Society said NGO is organizing such programmes for children of far flung areas where communication links are less.
The programme was catalyzed and supported by Department of National Council for Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi.
Principal Islamia Public High School Leh, Abdul Wahid termed the programme as highly beneficial and productive for the students and enlightening themselves with scientific knowledge and technological skills.
