2-day Wushu C’ship concludes at Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Nov 15: Two day long District level Srinagar Wushu Championship-2021, organised by District Wushu Association, concluded at Gindun Complex Rajbagh, here today.
About 200 players from different Clubs and Schools of Srinagar both boys and girls in various categories including sub-junior, junior and senior participated.
Overall trophy went to Gindun Wushu Academy where as runner up trophy went to New Convent High School Gogji Bagh Srinagar.
SSP SDRF Haseeb-Ul-Rehman was the chief guest, while SSP Masroof, Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar Manager Gindun Ground, Sadat Aslam Wan vice president Wushu Association J&K, and Nisar Hussain (President Awardee) were among guests of honor, besides prominent persons including Zeenat Zeshan Fazil, Basit Khan, Ajaz Hassan, Rameez Ahmed, Irfan Ahmed, Zahoor Ahmed Bhat, Irfan Ali, Omar Bhat and general secretary District Wushu Association Srinagar Maqsood Rather were present at the occasion.
Medals were distributed among the winners by the Chief Guest Haseeb-Ul-Rehman (SSP SDRF). During his speech, he appreciated the efforts of the Association for organizing the championship. He appealed to the youth to adopt sports as sports is the only medium to win the hearts of the people and now-a-day sports has become a profession where the player can earn name and fame for the country.
He congratulated all the medal winners of the 20th Junior National Wushu Championship-2021, in which two Gold and four Bronze medals were won by District Srinagar athletes.
