JAMMU, Nov 6: 1st Martyrs’ Memorial Badminton Tour-nament, organized by Kings Badminton Club, under the overall supervision of Gulzar Singh Slathia, former IGP and president of the club concluded at Badminton Hall Police Lines, Gulshan Ground, here today.
Danesh Rana, IGP Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Simrandeep Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu presided over the function. Both these dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners on the valedictory function.
The Tournament was coordinated by Balbir Singh Jamwal from J&K Badminton Association.
Earlier, in Under-10 boys singles final, Shourya got better of Bhavdeep by 21-15, 21-19, while in Under-10 girls final, Snowy prevailed over Skiedeep by 21-12, 21-20.
In Under-13 boys singles final, Aesh Goswami drubbed Vidhan by 21-6, 21-7, while in Under-13 girls singles final, Unnai defeated Sudikaha by 21-12, 12-21, 21-19.
In Under-15 boys singles, Yashdeep outplayed Puranjay by 21-19, 12-21, 6-21, while in Under-15 girls singles, Rashmi beat Poorvi by 21-23, 21-12, 21-13.
In Under-17 boys singles final, Mohit outclassed Saviny by 21-14, 21-9, while in Under-17 girls doubles final, Noman and Peehushi defeated Rshmi and Apoorvi by 21-9, 22-14 and 21-11.
In Under-17 girls singles final, Peehushi lost to Niteshi by 21-12, 21-19, while in Under-17 boys doubles final, Aesh and Puranjay lost to Mohit and Savinay by 21-19, 19-21, 18-21.
