Diamond Club outplays Media XI in 2nd Diwali Cup

JAMMU, Nov 6: Diamond Cricket Club (DCC) defeated Media Eleven by 62 runs in the ongoing 2nd Diwali T-20 Cup, being organized by Youth Welfare Association Cricket Club, Simbal Camp at Government Boys High School, Simbal Camp, here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, DCC made 217 by losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Verjinder Singh (Veeru) scored unbeaten 53 runs, while Mahadeep Singh and Raja contributed 38 and 46 runs respectively. For Media Eleven, Ranjeet scalped 3 wickets by giving away 42 runs in 4 overs, while Rahil and Soni took one wicket each.
Media Eleven scored 155 runs losing 9 wickets and lost the match by 62 runs. Amit (25) , Rahul (40) and Amit Sudan (22) were the main contributors.
For DCC, Gurvider Singh scalped 3 wickets by giving away 23 runs in 4 overs, while Rajan took 2 wickets by conceding 24 runs in 2 overs and Parveen also got 2 wickets in 4 overs. Verjinder Singh of DCC was adjudged as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Kulbir Singh (Physical Education Master) and Harcharan Singh as umpires, while Satvir Singh maintained the scorebook.
On the occasion, Ranjeet Kalra, Member BCCI and Vice Chairman, J&K State Sports Council, Jammu was the chief guest.
