133rd birth anniversary of Pt Prem Nath Dogra celebrated as ‘Sports Day’

JAMMU, Oct 24: Jammu and Kashmir BJP organized different sports events to commemorate the 133rd birth anniversary of Sher-e-Duggar Late Pt Prem Nath Dogra.
BJP Morchas and districts units organized matches of football, volleyball, judo, cricket, taekwando and basketball at different levels across Jammu province.
BJP State President and MLA Sat Sharma, Vice-Presidents, State General Secretaries, Secretaries, MLAs, MLCs, District and Morcha Presidents were the chief guests at different places and distributed the trophies to the winning teams.
BJP organized judo competition at MAM Stadium, Jammu West District President Ayodhya Gupta organized Kabaddi matches at SOS International School, Talab Tillo, BJP Mahila Morcha under its State President Purnima Sharma organized Volleyball match at Parade Ground.
Sat Sharma, who was the chief guest at MAM Stadium, Parade Ground and SOS International School said that the party has dedicated this 133rd anniversary of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra to sports as the great leader himself was a known footballer and hence it is the most appropriate tribute to him.
Similarly, BJP Kashmir Displaced District under the leadership of its District President Chandji Bhat organized volleyball matches at Migrant Camps in Jagti, Purkhoo and Bohri, wherein MLCs Ashok Khajuria and Surinder Ambardar distributed prizes among winners.
Ashok Kaul said that the party is celebrating the 133rd birth anniversary as Sports Day to highlight the importance of sports and induce a sense of discipline and unity to register victory. The winning team was also congratulated by Jammu East MLA Rajesh Gupta and Mahila Morcha State President Purnima Sharma.
Sports events were also organized in Poonch, Rajouri, Sunderbani, Akhnoor, Jammu Rural, RS Pura, Samba, Kathua, Basohli, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts.
Meanwhile, Bhagya Laxmi Charitable Trust celebrated 133rd birthday of Pt Prem Nath Dogra as Sports Day.
In this programme, All Morchas Head BJP, Munish Sharma was chief guest. Munish Sharma honoured visually challenged national cricket players of Jammu and Kashmir with trophies and shawls.
State Coordinator, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Sakeena Bano was guest of honour, who offered full support to visually challenged people.
Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Chairman Bhagya Laxmi Charitable Trust promised to hold a cricket match of visually challenged players in future. Bhanu Singh Jasrotia, Seh Prabhari, BJP Youth Jammu and Kashmir, was also guest of honour.
Among others present were Manmohan Kumar, Vice-Chairman, Sachin Gupta, Treasurer, Gitanshu Gupta, Jagdev Raj Toofani, Shivam and players Rohit Sharma, Imam Hussain, Abdul Raqeeb, Sachin Kumar and Manpreet.
On the birth anniversary of Pt Prem Nath Dogra, BJP Kissan Morcha organised a Kabbadi Tournament in Government Higher Secondary School, Domana, in which five teams participated.
Government High School Kangrail bagged first position and received Rs 2100 cash prize and a memento, whereas second position was clinched by GHSS Bhalwal and a cash prize of Rs 1500 and a memento was presented to them The third position was secured by GHSS Ghou Manhasa and cash prize of Rs 1100 and memento was presented to them. Karan Singh Chib, BJP State Vice President and Parbhari of J&K Kissan Morcha, Rajinder Singh Chib, State President Kissan Morcha BJP, Suresh Sharma, BJP State Secretary, KL Sharma and Sunil Dutt Sharma, general secretaries Kissan Morcha, besides many others were present on the occasion.
