11 qualify for final of All India Devotional Song Competition

KATRA, Sept 29: Celebrity singers Masha Ali and Diljaan enthralled the audience at semi final of  All India Devotional Song Competition at Yog Ashram Complex.
Masha Ali,  known for  his famous  hits  in  Khanjar ,  Kasam,  Raaz etc and Diljaan,  who had come  all the way for performing in the event,  enthralled the audience with their melodious songs and the total environment of the venue became spiritual and the people were seen singing and  dancing on their tunes.
In this semi final, out of 15 participants who had qualified for it through preliminary rounds of competition and quarter final, 11 participants qualified for the mega final. These included  Sukhjinder Yamla from Amritsar, Sukhdeep from Dharamkot, Shivankar Bharti from Jammu , Swaran Lata from Jalandhar , Kabul Bhukhari from Mumbai , Vivek Mohan from Jammu , Anmol Raja from Hoshiarpur , Varsha Jamwal from Jammu ,  Mohinder Soni from Jammu , Reema Devi from Kanyala  and  Shubh Sisters from Chamba. They  final winner would be awarded with gold worth Rs 3 lakh besides recording contract with Venus Records & Tapes Ltd .   2nd prize is of Rs one lakh and   the third prize is worth Rs 50,000.
The competition was adjudged by the panels of experts in music, including Masha Ali & Diljaan, Prof Anupama Sharma and V K Sambyal (Retd Director All India Radio).
Earlier, the semi-final event began with lighting of ceremonial lamp by chief guest Ajay Nanda, Minister of State for Finance, Planning & Parliamentary Affairs.  Speaking on the occasion, he said that the competition has become a good platform for the singers and a big attraction for the tourists.
