JAMMU, Oct 9: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Miran Sahib, organized an energetic and competitive Athletic Meet for AAG U-14, U-17 and U-19 boys at Government Boys High School, Simbal. The event was held under the chairmanship of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu, and the overall supervision of ZPEO Miran Sahib, Joginder Sharma. During the opening ceremony, Joginder Sharma encouraged young athletes to embrace discipline, hard work and consistency in their sporting journey, inspiring them to aim higher and prepare for future challenges.
Around 130 athletes from various Government and private schools of the zone participated in multiple track and field events. In the Discus Throw, Sohaib (U-14) from GBHS Brijnagar, Laddi Singh (U/17) from GBHS Kirpind, and Angad Saini (U-19) from JKPPS Miran Sahib secured first positions. In Javelin Throw, Divyansh (U-17) from GBHS Brijnagar and Vishal (U-19) emerged as winners. In the Shot Put event, Aayan (U-14) from GBHS Bansultan, Danesh Kumar (U-17) from Stephen HSS Kullian and Angad Saini (U-19) from JKPPS Miran Sahib clinched top honours. The event was officiated by a dedicated team of PELs, PEMs, PETs and REKs.
